Having reported for preseason training on the first day possible, many Liverpool fans were puzzled to not see Sepp van den Berg’s name on the team sheet against Tranmere. And it’s since been confirmed by Sky Sports that we won’t see him until the club’s tour of USA kicks off.
Van den Berg joined Liverpool in June for an initial £1.3 million, but paperwork “is still being processed by FIFA and until the club receives official confirmation, he is only allowed to train.”
Klopp rates the 17 year old highly and hasn’t ruled out him being a part of the first team squad: “It depends. I open the door but the boys have to go through still. He is a wonderful player as well, but because of FIFA rules he is not available at the moment.”
