According to the Daily Mail, Jordan Henderson is a doubt for England’s upcoming matches against Bulgaria and Kosovo after picking up an ankle injury during Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Burnley.
Henderson attempted to continue, but was forced off with 10 minutes to go. The Daily Mail report that he will be assessed by Liverpool’s medical team, before a decision is made about whether he joins up with his England teammates.
As “Henderson is a key man in England manager Gareth Southgate’s plans and it may be that Henderson will report and be given further treatment. But Southgate is unlikely to take a chance and risk doing further damage.”
Let’s hope the sensible decision is made and Henderson is given the week off to fully recover and rest up after a busy start to the season which is due to get really busy over the next few weeks…
